this time around i decided to take full advantage of the restaurants at my disposal and visit one of my favorite food icon's restaurant, anthony bourdain's les halles. it was a quite night not too many tables the staff was very nice and unpretentious, everyone took their time chatting with me and making me feel comfortable. the meal in itself was the same, unpretentious, straightforward and relaxed. it's safe to say it's one of the best meals i've had in a long time. details below:
warm potato and black olive salad with goat cheese gratine
pave de thon grille, sauce vierge
profiteroles
in case you're looking for some more context i'd highly recommend anthony bourdain's show on the the travel network, no reservations, or his featured interview on the sound opinions podcast about the influence of music on his food that includes a nice little story about cooking dinner for johnny thunders and of course i highly recommend his restaurant in downtown nyc. also, if you didn't notice, i do like food and have even dedicated an entire section of my flickr to it...
